FBI Opens Cold Case on Who Betrayed Anne Frank: Critical Linking, October 5

Sponsored by The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo

A retired FBI agent has launched a cold case review into identifying those who may have betrayed the hiding place of Anne Frank and her family to the Gestapo in 1944.

Investigative techniques developed in the past decade, including the crunching of big data to uncover leads, are to be used by a team of 19 forensic experts led by Vince Pankoke.

This is just fascinating.

I have an important update to make on Under the Same Stars.

I’m really sorry to anyone who was hoping to read it.  The book is based on real things that happened to me as a child, and how I used a fanfiction I co-wrote with my then best friend to try and find my brother.

But I did something pretty stupid during the publication process.  I didn’t want my family’s real names getting out, largely because some of the things that happened during childhood were embarrassing.  I wanted my brother, my grandparents, and even my parents to have privacy.  So when it came time to provide documentation, I altered the photocopies to disguise their names.

What a weird story.

Just in time for Halloween, the Maryland house where “The Exorcist” author William Peter Blatty lived for 16 years is on the market. And it could be yours for just $3.2 million.

The six-bedroom Georgian Colonial in the Burning Tree neighborhood in Bethesda was home to Blatty and his wife, actress and former Los Angeles Rams cheerleader Julie Blatty, from 2001 until the author’s death in January.

Hardest of passes humanly possible.
