Oprah’s Publishing Imprint Gets a Name: Critical Linking, December 18, 2016

On Wednesday, Flatiron Books announced that — yaaas kween — Oprah Winfrey named her publishing imprint, “An Oprah Book.”

That is a silly name, but I will still read those books from Oprah’s publishing imprint.

Julia Roberts is heading to the small screen.

The actress will star in a limited series based on Maria Semple’s latest book, Today Will Be Different, which hit shelves in October via Little, Brown and Company. Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures has scooped up the film rights to the book and will produce the project.

Is there a bigger get for an adaptation than Julia Roberts?

On Thursday, December 15, James Patterson announced the names of 149 independent booksellers receiving grants totaling $250,000 as part of his Holiday Bookstore Bonus Program. Patterson partnered with the American Booksellers Association to distribute the funds, which were awarded to individual booksellers in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $5,000.

Nice, nice.

A woman checked out a book called How to Win a Local Election. And she did. Listen to Annotated on Apple Podcasts or Google Play to hear her story.
